About the Organisation:

This thriving mid-tier accounting firm is internationally recognised in over 100 countries, and their Brisbane office is seeing exceptional growth in multiple areas of the business! They are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to work a combined role of supporting a key group of important clients. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves diversity in their workload and a fast-paced environment.

You will be working alongside 2 Directors and a team of Accountants and Bookkeepers. This particular team works with clients across industries such as non-profit, agriculture, farming, construction and more. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys having a client advisory focus and likes working with people. You will be able to support multiple business achieve success through effective accounting, reporting and compliance management!

Key responsibilities:
  • Supporting with GST, BAS and key compliance requirements
  • Manage end-to-end payroll for over 40 staff, including exposure to EBAs and interpreting various awards
  • Maintaining accurate financial records
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable (including processing invoices and payments)
  • Reconciling bank statements and credit card transactions
  • Communicating with clients and vendors directly
  • Preparing financial reports (including balance sheets, income statements and cashflow statements)
Skills and Experience:
  • 2+ years' experience working as a Bookkeeper (or relevant) in an Australian public practice accounting firm
  • Strong understanding of Australian tax and accounting principles, particularly GST and BAS
  • Experience with Xero (ideal), Dext, Employment Hero and Excel (bonus!)
  • Confidence in working with multiple clients simultaneously
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and tax filings is ideal
  • Someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and can also work independently
