Role Title: Brakes Refinement Engineer

Tools : 3Dx, Altair, Abaqus, CATIA V5, 3d Experience, Teamcenter, UK Driving License

Experience: 10-12 yrs

Location: Pune

Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field

Detailed JD:

-Vehicle Evaluation & Root Cause Analysis 

  • Conduct on-road and proving ground brake refinement evaluations across multiple European locations (Up to 3 weeks at a time). 

  • Provide detailed technical feedback to support root cause identification of refinement issues. 

  • Collaborate with design, CAE, and test teams to develop and validate countermeasures. 

  • -Brake NVH & Refinement 

  • Investigate and resolve brake NVH issues including squeal, judder, and creep groan. 

  • Operate NVH-specific measurement tools (., HEAD Acoustics, Polytech laser vibrometer, Link brake dynamometers and vehicle, LMS Test Lab). 

  • Perform objective and subjective assessments to correlate customer perception with engineering data. 

  • -CAE & Simulation

  • Conduct and support finite element analysis (FEA) for brake system components and assemblies using 3Dx, Altair, Abaqus. 

  • Support correlation of CAE predictions with physical test results. 

  • Apply simulation to optimize brake system design for refinement performance. 

  • -Data Acquisition & Processing

  • Acquire and process test data using Artemis, Link, LMS Test Lab. 

  • Analyze NVH and thermal performance data to identify trends and anomalies. 

  • Prepare technical reports and recommendations for design changes. 

  • -Problem Solving & Quality Tools 

  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA) to resolve brake refinement issues. 

  • Document findings and corrective actions in line with quality management processes.

  • Proven experience in automotive brake system refinement and NVH engineering. 

  • Hands-on experience with vehicle testing and instrumentation for brake NVH. 

  • Proficiency in NVH measurement systems (HEAD Acoustics, LMS, Polytech) and brake dynamometer testing. 

  • Strong CAE skills in FEA (3Dx, Altair, Abaqus) for brake system analysis. 

  • Competence in data acquisition and signal processing tools (Artemis, Link, LMS). 

  • Knowledge of brake system design, materials, and thermal behavior. 

  • Experience in structured problem-solving (8D, RCA) and quality tools.
