Drive strategy for blockbuster oncology brands across New Zealand, based in Macquarie Park, Sydney, with clear visibility and career growth in Australia. We’re seeking an experienced Oncology Brand Manager to lead AstraZeneca's NZ oncology portfolio across lung and breast cancer, owning brand strategy, omnichannel engagement, and cross-functional delivery in a fast-moving, access‑driven market.

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Business Unit Head, you will work closely with the cross-functional team to deliver growth in a fast-moving market. You will lead end-to-end marketing for core NZ oncology brands, including market opportunity assessment, research and insights, brand positioning and messaging, and asset planning, while motivating and inspiring teams, communicating a clear brand vision, and leading without authority to align people, activities, and resources to timely business objectives.

  • Strategy and leadership: Contribute to and co-own end-to-end strategy and execution for AZ’s NZ oncology portfolio.

  • Digital marketing: Build and optimise digital campaigns, micro-journeys, and VAE content aligned to customer needs and brand strategy.

  • Agility and prioritisation: Rapidly flex plans based on business opportunity, environmental shifts, and access constraints.Understand clinical and patient journeys, identify the ‘Moments That Matter,’ design and articulate the value proposition, and prioritise customer needs.

  • Design, develop, and execute customer activities and communications across multiple channels.

  • Commercial Excellence: Manage budgets, forecasting, and performance tracking; apply in-depth understanding of patient models.

  • Build cross-functional capability by leveraging differences and establishing collaborative networks to enable cohesive, high-functioning teams.

  • Foster internal and external partnerships to deliver high-quality outputs aligned to the brand plan.

  • Essential for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or Communications, majoring in Marketing; postgraduate qualification (, MBA, Master of Marketing) preferred.

  • Currently a Brand Manager, or an Associate Brand Manager who is demonstrably ready-now.

  • Proven strategic thinking with examples of leading or shaping brand strategy.

  • Hands-on experience with budgets, forecasting, and performance tracking.

  • Ability to travel to New Zealand 4 trips per year

  • Desirable for the role

  • Experience in oncology brand management

  • Exposure to patient models and data-driven planning.

  • Understanding of NZ code, Pharmac dynamics, reimbursement environment, and delivery constraints

  • Experience with digital journeys/automation and VAE content.
