Position: Bricklayer (Full Time) | Salary: $85,000 - $90,000 p/a plus Super

Summary

Our client Flawless Bricklaying is a Western Australia–based trade business delivering reliable brick and blockwork services across residential and commercial projects. We’re seeking a Bricklayer to support ongoing construction works, contributing skilled workmanship, attention to detail and safe site practices while maintaining high standards of structural integrity and finish across varied masonry applications.

Responsibilities

  • Study plans and specifications to determine materials, dimensions and bricklaying methods required
  • Prepare and seal foundations using damp-resistant materials prior to brick and block installation
  • Spread mortar beds and jointing mortar using hand tools to required thickness and consistency
  • Lay bricks and blocks in straight rows, patterns and designs to specified tolerances
  • Embed bricks and blocks accurately in mortar and remove excess material for clean finishes
  • Check vertical and horizontal alignment of walls using levels, lines and measuring tools
  • Cut, shape and trim bricks and blocks to fit corners, openings and irregular spaces
  • Repair and maintain existing brickwork, blockwork and related masonry structures
  • Erect and dismantle restricted height scaffolding in accordance with safety requirements
  • Prepare base courses and bedding layers for segmental paving where required
  • Use hand and power tools safely to cut, shape and polish masonry materials
  • Maintain a clean and safe worksite in line with WHS procedures and site rules
  • Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to meet construction timelines
  • Handle and store materials correctly to minimise waste and damage

Qualifications

  • Hold a Certificate III in Bricklaying or an equivalent recognised trade qualification
  • Demonstrate at least one year of practical, on-site experience working as a bricklayer
  • Ability to accurately interpret construction drawings, plans and written specifications
  • Strong knowledge of bricklaying techniques, mortar mixes and masonry materials
  • Competence in safely operating bricklaying tools, equipment and small machinery
  • Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements on construction sites
  • Physically capable of performing manual tasks and working outdoors in varying conditions
