Bulk Material Handling - Operator

Overview

At Olympic Dam, Bulk Material Handling Operators play a vital role in supporting the smelter’s operations. This hands-on role involves operating specialised vehicles to safely transport molten slag from electric furnaces to designated cooling and storage areas. You’ll be working with heavy equipment in high-risk environments, managing the movement of bulk materials like slag, sand, and anodes, all while upholding the highest safety standards.

This is a permanent role with a standard 2-weeks-on, 1-week-off roster. Each swing typically includes one week of day shifts followed by one week of night shifts, though some flexibility may be required to meet operational needs. Ventia provides return flights from Adelaide to Roxby Downs, along with accommodation while on site. You’ll receive six hours of paid time on travel days and work 12-hour shifts while on site.
