About the Job:


A leading transportation company is seeking an experienced Bus Operations Manager to oversee the full scope of bus operations, including driver management, fleet distribution, route coverage, service quality, and cost control. The successful candidate will translate company goals into actionable operational plans, ensure compliance with safety and service standards, and drive efficiency and customer satisfaction.



Key Responsibilities:



-Manage the entire bus operation, encompassing driver management, fleet allocation, route coverage, service quality, and cost control.

-Translate company objectives into operational plans and targets for the bus division.

-Design, implement, and monitor daily and weekly driver schedules based on demand forecasts and service level agreements.

-Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts for bus drivers in partnership with HR.

-Monitor driver conduct, ensuring compliance with uniform policies, grooming standards, customer service protocols, and safety behaviors.

-Handle bus reservations, address day-to-day operational issues, and respond to transportation-related inquiries.

-Manage vehicle documentation including insurance filings and vehicle inspection records.

-Control fuel consumption, validate garage invoices, and address discrepancies.

-Coordinate communication with insurance providers regarding accidents and claims.

-Track key performance indicators such as trip completion rates, cancellations, punctuality, service errors, and incident frequency.

-Identify operational bottlenecks and implement quick tactical solutions to maintain service continuity.

-Collaborate with Customer Service to review and resolve complaints, analyze ratings, and address recurring issues.

-Provide strategic insights to the Management on route optimization, service expansion, and policy enhancements based on operational data.



Qualifications & Skills:



-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Transportation Management, or related field.

-Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in operations management.

-Proven leadership and team management capabilities.

-Strong understanding of operational workflows, cost control, and quality assurance processes.

-Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

-Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and operational software systems.

-Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

-Knowledge of safety regulations, licensing requirements, and insurance processes in transportation.
