Job Description

Business Analyst - Data Mapping & UAT / QA Lead

Location: Hybrid - 1-2 days p/week onsite in Madrid Office

Freelance / Autonomo Contract - 12 month term initially

Rate €350-450 p/day

Spanish and Professional English language skills are needed for this role

This isn’t a typical Business Analyst role.

We're looking for someone who sits between requirements, data, testing and defects and makes sure new country and compliance requirements don’t break existing systems when they go live.

You’ll be the person bringing control, traceability and structure across business teams, IT and external vendors.

What you’ll actually be doing

  • Reviewing new country / compliance (UBL) requirements

  • Comparing these to how current systems and data work today

  • Identifying the gaps and documenting what needs to change

  • Mapping data fields across systems to support those changes

  • Turning those gaps into clear test scenarios and test cases

  • Coordinating and running UAT with business users

  • Logging, triaging and driving defect resolution with dev teams and vendors

  • Maintaining clear traceability between requirements, data changes, test cases and defects

  • Working closely with finance, compliance, IT teams and external vendors to get releases safely into production

This is hands-on, detail-focused work, less workshops, more control.

We’re looking for someone who has done this in environments such as:

  • E-invoicing, UBL, compliance or regulatory systems

  • ERP / finance platforms

  • Payments, billing, order management or similar data-heavy systems

Ideally you’ll have experience of:

  • Data mapping across systems

  • Owning UAT, not supporting it

  • Writing test cases from business and data requirements

  • Managing defects through to resolution

  • Working between vendors and internal technical teams to get releases over the line

What matters most

  • Strong experience as a BA with heavy involvement in testing and UAT

  • Practical experience with data mapping and traceability

  • Confidence working in defect tracking tools (e.g. JIRA)

  • Ability to work across business, IT and vendors

  • Comfortable operating in both Agile and Waterfall environments

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation

What this role is not

This is not a workshop-heavy, process-diagram BA role.

This is for someone who is comfortable in spreadsheets, test cases, defect logs and making sure releases go live without issues.

Summary

You’ll take compliance and country requirements, map the data impact, translate that into proper test coverage, and own defects through to production across multiple teams and vendors.

If this sounds at all like you please apply now and let's schedule a conversation, thanks!
