Job Description – Business Analyst (P&C Insurance – Billing & Claims)
We are hiring a P&C Business Analyst with strong expertise in Billing and Claims to support the implementation of an enterprise Insurance Workbench. The ideal candidate understands policy lifecycle operations and can translate business processes into clear requirements for product and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and document business requirements for Billing & Claims workflows on the workbench
- Map as-is / to-be processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements
- Write user stories, acceptance criteria, BRDs/FRDs, and detailed workflow specs
- Support configuration of billing schedules, payment plans, fees, dunning, refunds, and claim intake/assignment rules
- Define and validate integrations across PAS, billing systems, claims systems, and external data sources
- Support UAT: create test cases, execute tests, and handle defect triage
- Conduct workshops, demos, and cross-functional requirement sessions
Domain Expertise Required
Billing
- Direct bill, agency bill, invoicing
- Installments, mid-term changes
- Payment allocation, reconciliation
- Write-offs, refunds, suspense, taxes
Claims
- FNOL, coverage validation
- Segmentation, assignment
- Reserves, payments, recoveries
- Subrogation, salvage, notes & documentation
Required Skills
- 5–10 years of BA experience in P&C Insurance
- Strong hands-on experience with Billing and/or Claims processes
- Familiarity with insurance platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, Sapiens, Insure MO, etc.)
- Knowledge of commercial lines (WC, GL, Auto, Property)
- Strong documentation, workflow mapping, and requirement gathering skills
- Experience in agile product delivery and multi-system integration projects
