Position Overview
Reporting to the Regional Sales Director (Eastern Canada), the Business Development Manager, Ontario, is responsible for driving growth and new client acquisition for Complete Purchasing Services within the Mississauga West territory. This role leads growth by building trusted, long-term relationships with senior leaders and guiding them through a consultative, value-based decision-making process.
The Business Development Manager develops and executes sales strategies, identifies and prioritizes high-potential prospects, and converts opportunities into long-term CPS partners. Working closely with internal teams, this role demonstrates CPS’s purchasing efficiencies, pricing advantages, and overall program value, while representing the organization at industry events and professional forums.
Responsibilities
- Business Development & Sales Execution
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline to drive new client acquisition and CPS program participation.
- Plan and prioritize prospect outreach to meet growth and revenue objectives.
- Client Engagement & Relationship Building
- Maintain consistent engagement with prospects through meetings, industry events, conferences, and follow-up activities.
- Build executive-level relationships and guide clients through a consultative decision-making process.
- Program Promotion & Digital Tools
- Promote CPS brands and solutions using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other digital platforms.
- Drive adoption of corporate menu management systems, controlled order guides, and purchasing platforms.
- Data, Analytics & Presentations
- Leverage Salesforce and supply chain analytics to track sales activity, analyse purchasing data, manage competitive intelligence, and identify opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations, pricing comparisons, and proposals using standardized templates.
- Partnerships & Market Expansion
- Identify and pursue new sales channels, including associations, partnerships, alliances, and endorsements.
- Represent CPS at corporate and industry functions to strengthen brand presence.
Qualifications
- A minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in sales and/or operational management within healthcare, senior living, institutional foodservice, hospitality, food and beverage, or a related sector.
- College or university degree in Foodservice Management, Health Services, Administration, Hospitality, or Marketing preferred.
- Approximately 60% travel is required within the assigned territory.
Compensation
- Competitive base salary range of $90,000–$110,000, plus commission.
- Comprehensive compensation package, including health benefits and a monthly car allowance of $600.
