Job Description

  • Extremely attractive leave benefits!
  • Company vehicle + WFH flexibility
  • Subsidised private health insurance & product discounts

Build meaningful partnerships. Drive growth for a purpose‑led health fund.

Teachers Health is the only health fund exclusively for teachers, nurses and related industry staff and their families. As a not‑for‑profit organisation, everything we do is focused on supporting teachers, education staff and their families, covering the lives of over 400,000 members.

We’re looking for a Business Development Officer to grow and strengthen our presence across Perth and surrounding suburbs, working closely with education and healthcare communities.

This is a field‑based, in person, relationship‑driven role suited to someone who enjoys being out in the community, owning a territory, and driving sustainable growth through trusted partnerships.

Why join Teachers Health?

We have lots to offer, including (just to name a few):

  • Attractive leave benefits, over and above the standard
  • Subsidised private health insurance
  • Fully maintained motor vehicle provided as part of the role
  • Ability to work from home, once in-person activities are delivered
  • Discounts across Teachers Health products and services
  • A generous wellbeing program focused on your mental, physical and financial health
  • Autonomy to own and manage your territory, backed by a collaborative national team

What will I do?

In this role, you will:

  • Grow our membership by building meaningful relationships across education and healthcare communities and delivering local sales initiatives that make a real impact.
  • Own your Perth territory, planning your activity, engaging prospects face‑to‑face, and managing a healthy sales pipeline using Salesforce.
  • Be the face of Teachers Health in the community by visiting schools and hospitals, presenting at conferences and events, and representing our three brands and health centres.
  • Build trusted connections with key stakeholders, working collaboratively to convert opportunities and deliver growth outcomes for the fund.
  • Support and retain existing members through positive, relationship‑focused service and ongoing engagement.
  • Co-ordinate and deliver events and activities, including event set-up, onsite engagement, short presentation and follow-up, to support business growth and brand visibility.
  • Work closely with Marketing and internal teams, sharing market insights and helping deliver timely campaigns and external assets that support our brand and growth.

What do I need?

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong experience in business development, account management, sales and/or marketing, with a focus on driving growth.
  • Confidence in developing and delivering effective sales strategies, including creating and executing your own sales plan.
  • A solid understanding of sales and marketing‑led approaches and how they work together to achieve results.
  • Skills in managing a territory, engaging across diverse workplaces such as education and healthcare.
  • Self-confidence in working in complex stakeholder environments, including engaging with unions and employer groups, and bring strong problem‑solving and organisational skills.
  • A valid drivers licence and safe driving record … this is a must!

Experience in education, healthcare or not‑for‑profit environments will be highly regarded but is not essential.
