Job Description
We currently have a permanent Business Improvement Specialist to join our Asset and Digital division. This role can be based anywhere within our operational footprint.
This role plays a critical role in leading transformational and continuous improvement initiatives across Asset & Operations. The Business Improvement Specialist will manage a portfolio of projects that enhance operational efficiency, embed innovative technologies, and support strategic planning aligned with Essential Energy’s goals.
The successful candidate will apply proven process improvement methodologies, engage stakeholders, and deliver solutions that improve safety, performance, and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage transformational Frontline Mobility initiatives across Asset & Operations.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
- Engage stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery of project outcomes.
- Develop process maps and models to support planning and strategy.
- Champion the implementation of Frontline Mobility solutions and monitor delivery.
- Represent the business in industry forums and stay informed on emerging technologies.
- Promote new ways of working and embed systems and technologies for greater efficiency.
- Provide technical advice on continuous improvement strategies.
- Review policies and procedures to identify enhancements in safety and efficiency.
- Encourage innovation and proactively identify improvements to business systems.
About You
As a Business Improvement Specialist, you will bring strong analytical skills, stakeholder engagement experience, and a collaborative mindset. You’ll be passionate about driving innovation and continuous improvement across diverse teams.
Required Qualifications/Skills
Mandatory:
- Bachelor of Business or equivalent experience
Desirable:
- Process Improvement Certification
- Project Management Certification
- Graduate Certificate in Lean, Six Sigma, Quality Management, or similar
Experience:
- Operational background, ideally with experience in planning and scoping activities within a field or works management environment.
- Extensive experience in business/process analysis within large organisations
- Proven track record in delivering improvement initiatives
- Strong understanding of commercial, risk, and safety principles
- Experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
Skills:
- Research, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Project management and delivery expertise
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Policy and process development
- Proficiency in business systems and process mapping tools
