Role Details

The Opportunity

Join St Barbara’s Parish School as our Business Manager, a key leadership role responsible for driving the operational, financial and human resources heartbeat of our school. You’ll work closely with the Principal and leadership team, oversee key support functions, and help shape the future direction of our community in the heart of the Outback.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business planning and support the Strategic Plan, Annual Improvement Plan and Master Plan.
  • Oversee finance, budgeting, reporting, payroll and funding submissions.
  • Manage administration, HR, recruitment, contracts and compliance.
  • Provide expert financial and strategic advice to the Principal, School Board and Finance Committee.
  • Monitor school fees, support families, and ensure effective debt management.
  • Oversee WHS, return‑to‑work requirements, facilities, maintenance and outsourced services.
  • Lead non‑curriculum ESO teams and ensure high‑quality customer service across the school.
  • Maintain accurate records, asset registers, insurance, and reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to school life: events, meetings, professional learning and community engagement.

About You

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Bring strong experience in business, finance, HR or operations leadership, school experience is a bonus.
  • Have knowledge of industrial relations, WHS and administrative compliance.
  • Communicate clearly, lead confidently and build strong relationships across the school community.
  • Are organised, solutions‑focused and skilled at managing competing priorities.
  • Have advanced ICT literacy (Microsoft Office, databases, systems).
  • Uphold confidentiality, professionalism and the Catholic ethos.
  • Hold a relevant qualification in Business, Accounting or similar.
