About the Opportunity:
This is a pivotal leadership role within Holman Hodge’s Business Services team, offering the opportunity to make a genuine impact on both clients and the broader firm. As a Business Services Manager, you will be a trusted adviser to a diverse client base, playing a key role in shaping operational outcomes while supporting Directors in delivering strategic, value-driven advice.
You will lead and mentor a high-performing team, foster strong client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth and evolution of the business. Working in a collaborative, people-focused environment, this role provides clear scope to further develop your technical depth, leadership capability, and commercial acumen, while positioning you for future progression within the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
You will take ownership of key client relationships while playing an active role in developing and leading our people. Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients and a mentor within the team, your responsibilities will include:
- Building and managing strong client relationships, proactively responding to queries and guiding clients with confidence and professionalism.
- Supporting the leadership and development of a small team, driving accountability, effective delegation, and consistent delivery of high-quality work.
- Establishing ongoing coaching and mentoring relationships with nominated team members, supporting their professional growth and performance.
- Identifying capability and knowledge gaps within the team and contributing to training, guidance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Reviewing financial statements and income tax returns, while providing technical support and oversight to team members preparing client work.
- Working closely with Directors on compliance and advisory engagements, applying technical expertise and liaising directly with clients to deliver value-driven outcomes.
- Managing work in progress and billing for client engagements, ensuring commercial outcomes are met alongside client service expectations.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Strong technical capability, a proactive mindset and a collaborative approach. You will be able to demonstrate:
- CA or CPA qualification.
- Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge.
- Demonstrated experience in a Manager role within business services, compliance and advisory.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and an inquisitive mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality.
- The ability to work efficiently and autonomously in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- A positive, team-oriented approach with enthusiasm and a willingness to continue learning.
