Business / System Analyst
Contract | Initial term to 30 June 2026 + 12-month extension
Location: Australia-wide (interstate travel to Canberra required)
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst or Systems Analyst to support the delivery of complex digital and software initiatives within a large-scale Agile delivery environment. This role is well suited to an analyst who enjoys working closely with delivery teams, product owners and stakeholders to translate complex business needs into clear, testable requirements.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary scrum team, building a deep understanding of business processes and system workflows and decomposing these into high-quality user stories that support rapid and effective delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and clearly document business and system requirements, ensuring they are complete, traceable and supported by clear, testable acceptance criteria
- Decompose complex requirements into meaningful user stories suitable for Agile delivery
- Identify and articulate design options, system workflows and associated rationale
- Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions and stakeholder interviews to define new business processes or identify process improvement opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Work collaboratively across multiple scrum teams delivering digital and IT products
- Support sprint delivery in a fast-paced Agile environment, demonstrating flexibility to achieve sprint goals
- Contribute to relevant Communities of Practice within an Agile Release Train
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 3+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst working on digital products or custom software delivery
- Strong experience working in multi-disciplinary Agile teams delivering IT projects
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops and conducting stakeholder interviews
- Experience interpreting legislation and analysing complex business problems within large-scale government or regulated environments
- Strong knowledge of Agile techniques and artefacts, including: User stories and acceptance criteria | Definition of Done | Gherkin and INVEST principles
- Experience executing product delivery aligned with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum, Kanban, and the Digital Service Standard
- High level of proficiency using Azure DevOps and Miro

Working Arrangements
- Location: Australia-wide
- Interstate travel to Canberra is required , including attendance at quarterly planning events and other key onsite activities as required.
