Business Head – Foundry Operations
Location: Coimbatore, India
Reporting to: Division Head
About the Role
This role leads a standalone foundry business as a strategic profit center. The Business Head will be accountable for driving growth, operational excellence, and profitability while strengthening market presence across industrial sectors. The position requires a blend of commercial leadership, deep foundry expertise, and the ability to scale performance through technology, people, and process excellence.
Key Accountabilities
Business & Growth Leadership
Define and implement medium- to long-term business strategies aligned with overall organizational objectives Expand presence across domestic and international industrial markets Build a diversified customer portfolio across machinery, power, rail, construction, valves, pumps, and general engineering Track global benchmarks and translate best practices into competitive advantage Financial & Operational Ownership
Hold end-to-end responsibility for P&L performance, including margins, costs, and working capital Lead all manufacturing activities across melting, molding, casting, machining, and finishing Improve throughput, yield, and asset utilization while minimizing scrap and rework Ensure delivery reliability and adherence to customer commitments Quality, Technology & Continuous Improvement
Strengthen quality systems and certifications in line with global standards Drive modernization through automation, digital tools, and process simulation Embed lean manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement disciplines across operations Sales & Customer Engagement
Shape and execute go-to-market strategies for industrial and OEM customers Develop long-term relationships with key accounts and global buyers Partner with customers on technical solutions, quality assurance, and delivery excellence People & Culture
Build and mentor a strong leadership team across functions Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and performance ownership Develop technical depth and leadership succession within the organization Compliance, EHS & Sustainability
Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, and safety regulations Lead initiatives to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact Drive world-class safety standards across operations Candidate Profile
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical, or Production Engineering MBA or equivalent qualification is an advantage Experience
20+ years in foundry or metal casting operations Minimum 5–7 years in a senior leadership role with full P&L accountability Experience managing medium to large manufacturing units serving industrial and/or automotive customers Hands-on exposure to advanced foundry technologies, automation, and quality systems
