Locations: Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Charlotte, NC
We are seeking an experienced Buyer to manage procurement of electrical materials for mission-critical commercial projects, including data centers and critical infrastructure. This role focuses on sourcing, negotiating, and securing long-lead and high-reliability electrical equipment while ensuring technical compliance, cost control, and on-time project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Own procurement for electrical materials including switchgear, UPS, PDUs, generators, busway, cable, conduit, panels, and breakers Source and negotiate with major electrical distributors and OEMs to secure pricing, lead times, and equipment availability Partner with engineering, project management, and operations to meet technical specifications and project schedules Manage supplier performance, resolve delivery or quality issues, and drive continuous improvement Support long-lead and constrained equipment procurement through early manufacturer engagement Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and supply chain risks Coordinate logistics, expediting, and inventory to support fast-paced construction and commissioning Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contracts, and quality standards Qualifications
2–7 years of procurement experience in electrical construction, mission-critical facilities, or large commercial projects Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Supply Chain Management Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power distribution, backup power, and critical systems Experience working directly with electrical distributors and OEMs Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications Proven negotiation skills and experience with high-value procurement packages Experience in EPC, design-build, or electrical contractor environments Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
