ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a C++ Tech Lead to spearhead the development and evolution of the backend of SITA core products Mission Watch and Pilot Platform. If you are passionate about building scalable, high-performance systems, this is the role for you!

is a next-generation flight tracking application used by airlines globally to track aircraft in real-time, visualize weather and flight data in 4D, and manage alerts and operational events for safer and more efficient flight operations. The platform integrates real-time weather feeds, configurable rule-based alerts, advanced visualizations, and ACARS messaging to support dispatchers and operations centers worldwide.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Architect, design, and develop high-performance, scalable applications in C++ targeting real-time data processing. Working on multi-threaded, event-driven, high-availability components for flight tracking, alerting engines, and weather integration.
  • Collaborate on defining APIs and data interfaces with cloud and distributed subsystems.
  • Define, document, and enforce engineering guidelines and best practices for C++ development, automated testing, CI/CD, and security, ensuring consistent, high-quality implementation across the codebase and alignment with aviation-grade reliability standards.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, and DevOps, to implement technical solutions that align with business goals.
  • Leads, mentors and coaches a group of development professionals ensuring they have the required skills and knowledge to perform their work, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security of the system.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and best practices.
  • Participate in requirement analysis, system design, and effort estimation to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

    • Qualifications

    WHO YOU ARE

  • 8+ years experience in a software engineering environment designing and developing software application features.
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in modern C++ (C++20)
  • Experience developing real-time, data-intensive applications with multi-threading and concurrency
  • Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
  • Strong understanding of design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean coding practices
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools for code completion, static analysis, test generation, and design review
  • Experience relational databases like MySQL, or Oracle and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Experience with Flyway is a plus.
  • Prior experience migrating legacy applications and working on large-scale, distributed systems.
  • Aviation knowledge is a plus
  • English C1 level is a must

  • Experience in leading teams, mentoring junior developers, and conducting code reviews
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
