Job Description

Roles and Responsibility

1. Perform comprehensive benchmarking of electric vehicles, emphasizing system, subsystem, and component levels, with a focus on design, packaging, and manufacturing strategies.

2. Develop master sections, concepts, and detailed parametric designs (parts and assemblies) in NX for various EV systems and subsystems—including BiW, DAC and trims, GSM, and seat systems— while managing complex packaging challenges from pre-development through series production phases.

3. Evaluate, balance, and perform trade-offs on design concepts based on attributes such as DFA, DFS, cost, quality, and time.

4. Optimize concepts and designs through analytical and physical assessments.

5. Conduct interface and DMU analysis, generate detailed reports, and coordinate seamlessly with internal and external stakeholders (including suppliers) to resolve packaging and integration challenges.

6. Actively participate in vehicle prototype and production prototype build activities at both in-house and customer assembly facilities.

7. Record, monitor, and resolve vehicle build concerns through coordination with stakeholders using problem-solving tools like 8D and FTA.

Qualifications & Experience

1. BE Mechanical Engineering graduate with over 4-7 years of experience in the automotive industry and strong NX CAD skills.

Education and Skills Requirements

1. Hands-on experience with 3-wheeler systems and subsystems, including BiW, DAC and trims, GSM, and seat systems, encompassing benchmarking, master section preparation, concept design, packaging, integration, technical feasibility studies, and detailed design of components.

2. Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals with the ability to apply them to design and manufacturing process development.

3. Proficient in parametric CAD modeling; NX experience is mandatory. Skilled in PDM software, specifically Teamcenter, and knowledgeable in release processes.

4. Strong knowledge of engineering materials, including plastics, sheet metal, high-strength, and lightweight materials.

5. Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, sheet metal forming, machining, and casting processes.

6. Familiarity with Design Quality Assurance (DQA) and key elements such as Benchmarking, Design Concept Sheet (DCS), GD&T, DFMEA, DFMA, DFSS, DFS&R, and DVP&R.

7. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

8. Reliable, self-motivated, committed, and quality-focused professional.

9. Adaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic and constantly changing environment.

10. Strong professional and positive communication skills.

11. Creative thinker with the capability to develop innovative solutions that are better, cheaper, and faster, aligning with the aggressive product development.

12. Willingness to quickly learn new areas outside of current expertise to support the team effectively.
