Are you passionate about food and eager to contribute to a vibrant school community? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic School Canteen Assistant to join our team at Blackfriars.

At Blackfriars, we believe that providing nutritious and delicious meals is essential to fuelling our students' learning and growth. Our school canteen is a hub of activity, serving a diverse range of students and staff with tasty and wholesome food options.

Responsibilities: As a School Canteen Assistant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our canteen. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in food preparation, cooking, and serving.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the canteen area.
  • Providing excellent customer service to students and staff.
  • Handling cash transactions and maintaining accurate records.
  • Helping with inventory management and restocking supplies.
  • Supporting the Canteen Manager in various tasks as needed.

Qualifications: We're looking for candidates who possess:

  • A passion for food and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards.
  • Prior experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.

Applicants must hold a valid Working with Children Check before commencing employment. Candidates must possess valid Australian work rights including citizenship, permanent residency, or appropriate work visa.
