Job Summary

Denver Health Medical Center, Denver, CO seeks a full-time Cardiac Electrophysiologist to join our collaborative and collegial team of 14 physicians and 7 advanced practice providers providing excellence in patient care, research, and educational programs. This is an integrated clinical program with University of Colorado Denver, with faculty academic rank commensurate with experience and qualifications. Requirements include: Fellowships and Board Eligibility in Cardiovascular Disease and Electrophysiology; clinical training in device management and implantation, as well as, rhythm management and ablation procedures; watchman experience is a plus; interest in experimental, clinical, or health services research; commitment to medical education and training of fellows. The Division supports inpatient consultative and CCU services, electrophysiology services, coronary and peripheral interventional services, a 24/7 STEMI program, a full-service non-invasive laboratory and advanced cardiac imaging, and outpatient general and specialty cardiology services.

The successful candidate will have completed a terminal medical degree ( MD or DO), be board eligible in Cardiovascular Diseases and, as well as have a demonstrated training, desire and ability in the practice of Electrophysiology. The selected candidate will have an academic appointment at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Health Sciences at an academic rank commiserate with experience.

Essential Functions :

  • Use highly specialized tests, procedures and devices to test for and treat abnormal heart rhythms. (65%)
  • Collaborate with staff, other physicians and management in service and patient care. (25%)
  • Scholarly activity includes clinical research and educational activities. (10%)

  • Education :

  • Doctorate Degree Graduate of an accredited medical school. Required
  • Licenses :

  • MD-Physician - State Medical Board Required and
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required and
  • ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association Required

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
  • Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.
  • Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills.
  • Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems.
  • Performs in a tactful and professional manner.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
