Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) Registered Nurse in Charlotte, NC

This opportunity calls for a skilled registered nurse with expertise in cardiovascular intensive care to support a well-established critical care unit. The assignment is a contract position based in the vibrant city of Charlotte, NC, offering an excellent chance to engage with complex cardiac cases within a dynamic Level III Trauma and teaching hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide critical care nursing to patients with serious cardiovascular conditions including STEMI, cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, and post-thoracic surgery cases.
• Manage advanced invasive devices such as IABP and Impella, and care for patients with chest tubes, surgical drains, ventilators, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
• Administer and monitor vasoactive medications while using critical care monitoring equipment.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including intensivists, respiratory therapists, and IV/VAT teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in regional floating within the healthcare system to address staffing needs while remaining within the scope of practice.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Current RN license with at least 2 years of critical care experience; CVICU experience highly preferred.
• Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Proficient with EMR systems, preferably Epic.
• Strong clinical skills in managing complex cardiac nursing interventions and critical care technology.

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Every other weekend rotation.
• Holiday coverage required approximately 75% of assigned holidays.
• No on-call or callback requirements.
