Our Category Buyer will be responsible for key activities including direct material procurement, supplier quoting and selection, driving cost savings initiatives, generating purchase orders, and providing general sales support.
**Responsibilities**
- Negotiate with suppliers
- Identify and pursue savings opportunities and strategic projects:
- Material cost analysis
- Supply chain evaluations
- Economic trend and industry factor assessments
- Meet defined savings goals
- Improve commercial terms such as:
- Payment terms
- Payment upon receipt
- Monthly payment options
- Incoterms
- Title transfers
- Ensure supplier selection process is completed in a timely manner
- Collaborate in the coordination/support of business transfers between Aptiv plants
- Prevent supplier delivery disruptions related to:
- Tool movements
- Supplier relocations
- Supplier replacements
