We are looking for a Category Manager to own and optimize assigned procurement and spend categories by driving strategic sourcing, supplier performance, cost optimization, and risk management. This role plays a critical part in enabling scalable operations while ensuring quality, compliance, and value across vendor engagements.

Role Overview

As a Category Manager at Scry AI, you will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies that align with business objectives. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across operations, finance, legal, and business teams to manage supplier ecosystems, negotiate commercial terms, and ensure continuity, cost efficiency, and governance across categories.

This role is ideal for someone who combines analytical rigor with strong stakeholder management and enjoys balancing strategy with hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities

Category Strategy and Planning

• Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business priorities and growth plans
• Analyze spend, demand patterns, and supplier landscapes to identify optimization opportunities
• Define sourcing roadmaps, cost-saving initiatives, and risk mitigation plans for assigned categories

Sourcing and Supplier Management

• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFPs, negotiations, contract finalization, and onboarding
• Build and manage strategic supplier relationships to ensure performance, quality, and reliability
• Monitor supplier KPIs, SLAs, and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements

Cost Optimization and Governance

• Drive cost efficiencies through negotiations, consolidation, and value engineering initiatives
• Partner with finance and legal teams to ensure commercial, financial, and contractual discipline
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, audit requirements, and internal controls

Stakeholder Collaboration and Insights

• Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders on category-related decisions
• Balance stakeholder needs with commercial discipline and long-term category goals
• Provide data-driven insights, reports, and recommendations to leadership

Required Qualifications and Skills

• 3+ years of experience in category management, procurement, sourcing, or vendor management
• Strong analytical skills with experience in spend analysis and cost optimization
• Proven negotiation and supplier management capabilities
• Ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and competing priorities
• Familiarity with procurement tools, ERPs, contract management systems, or sourcing platforms
• Strong understanding of commercial terms, contracts, and supplier risk management
