Job Description
This position will work with various departments within Core Network, OSP Planning & Engineering, VoIP Engineering, and other operations and support organizations in the planning, configuration, and implementation associated with our IP network(s). This position will also have responsibility for the support and repair functions, for these IP networks and any associated customer networks. The Network Engineer I will design and perform all network engineering functions required on all Layer 2 data services sold to Business Retail and Carrier Customers. The individual will manage and configure all related IP configurations for customer dedicated internet orders.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and enhancements such as multi-cast, QOS techniques, bandwidth, and path reservation techniques. Working knowledge of DS3, T1, OC3, ISDN, Frame Relay, SONET, ATM, DSL, and other bandwidth link specifications and protocols.
