Position Summary:
Certified Peer Specialists (CPS) provide peer-based recovery support to Persons in Recovery (PIRs) involved with the criminal justice system. Using lived experience, CPS staff support recovery, wellness, community integration, and self-advocacy while modeling hope and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide peer support, advocacy, and recovery education.
- Facilitate recovery-oriented groups (WRAP, support groups, community meetings)
- Support development of coping skills, natural supports, and independent living skills.
- Encourage engagement in treatment and recovery planning.
- Complete required documentation in a timely manner.
- Model wellness and recovery-focused behaviors.
