Your Job

We are seeking a highly skilled CFD Engineering Manager  to lead and grow a diverse, technically excellent CFD team supporting John Zink’s operations and customers across Europe, the Middle East, India, and Asia. This role requires deep technical expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics and a passion for coaching and developing high-performance teams aligned with Koch’s PBM culture.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage the CFD engineering team distributed across multiple countries – currently Luxembourg and Mumbai.
  • Provide technical leadership in CFD methodologies, simulation strategy, and validation to support project execution and product development.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Process Engineering and Sales to deliver customer-focused CFD solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in CFD capabilities by promoting best practices, automation, and innovation.Grow capabilities in adjacent areas as needed – areas such as AI for simulation, noise propagation, structural analysis, etc
  • Foster a culture of principled entrepreneurship by exemplifying and advocating Koch’s PBM principles in daily work, team development, and decision-making.
  • Manage resource allocation, project prioritization, and performance to ensure team accountability and on-time delivery of high-quality results.
  • Mentor and develop team members, encouraging professional growth, knowledge sharing, and collaboration across regions.
  • Serve as a key interface for regional stakeholders, understanding local market requirements and aligning CFD efforts to strategic business goals.
  • Support and contribute to Koch’s global CFD community and knowledge base to leverage synergies and optimize resource utilization.
  • Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. Advanced degrees preferred.
  • Proven expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics, including turbulence modeling, heat transfer, and reacting flows.
  • Familiarity with leading CFD software packages (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM) and high-performance computing environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply PBM principles to leadership, problem-solving, and team development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with diverse, cross-cultural teams.
  • Proven track record of delivering technical solutions aligned with business objectives in complex, multi-market environments.
