Qualifications
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef De Partie specializing in Western Cuisine to join our culinary team in Chennai, India. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation and timely delivery of dishes.
- Manage and operate a designated section of the kitchen, such as sauces, grills, or pastry
- Prepare and cook high-quality Western cuisine dishes according to restaurant standards and recipes
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and hygiene practices in compliance with food safety regulations
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in your section
- Maintain inventory and order supplies for your station as needed
- Assist in controlling food costs and minimizing waste
- Contribute to the overall smooth operation of the kitchen during service hours
Qualifications
- Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role, preferably in high-volume or fine dining restaurants
- Proven expertise in Western cuisine preparation and presentation
- Proficiency in various Western cooking techniques and methods
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, with current food safety certification
- Ability to work efficiently with various kitchen equipment and tools
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity and attention to detail in food preparation and plating
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
