Cheif Accountant

Job Summary The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with local and international accounting standards, and effective financial controls.

This role plays a critical part in supporting management with reliable financial information and ensuring the company’s financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Reporting Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records Maintain compliance with IFRS/local accounting standards and tax regulations Controls & Compliance Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, audits, and tax filings Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies Budgeting & Analysis Support budget preparation and financial forecasting Monitor expenses and analyze variances against budgets Provide financial insights and reports to management for decision-making Team Leadership Supervise and mentor accounting staff Review team outputs and ensure adherence to accounting policies Support continuous improvement and training within the finance team Systems & Process Improvement Ensure proper use and optimization of accounting systems and ERP tools Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency Support system implementations or upgrades when required Qualifications & Requirements Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) is a strong advantage Experience 7+ years of progressive accounting experience Proven experience in a senior or supervisory accounting role Experience with audits, tax compliance, and financial reporting Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and accuracy Strong leadership and communication skills Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel Preferred Qualifications Experience in [industry, e.g., retail, manufacturing, services] Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo, NetSuite) Prior experience working in a fast-paced or growing organization What We Offer Competitive salary and benefits Opportunities for growth and professional development Collaborative and dynamic work environment Powered by JazzHR
