Our laboratory plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and research & development (R&D) support.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Chemistry Laboratory Technician to support laboratory testing and analysis, quality control and product development activities. The successful candidate will work closely with Chemists and senior technicians to ensure accurate chemical testing and reporting in accordance with Australian standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proficient operation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment (GC, HPLC, and GCMS machines)
  • Carry out Quality Assurance and compliance testing of TGACs, raw materials, and imported and locally formulated product batches
  • Assist in the improvement of existing products and the experimental development of new formulations, including preparation and manufacture of laboratory‑scale batches
  • Assist in the preparation of chemistry packages for new APVMA registrations and changes to existing products
  • Triage and resolve customer and other external inquiries and complaints, and manage the complaints register
  • Maintain sample and/or work request register, covering TGACs, raw materials, customer requests and analytical standards
  • Prepare SOPs and other documentation required to support WHS and QA compliant, effective and efficient laboratory practices
  • Assist in developing and improving laboratory methods and processes
  • Manage stock levels of laboratory supplies and consumables
  • Prepare, or assist in the preparation of, ad-hoc technical reports as requested

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s level qualification in Chemistry, Laboratory Technology, or a related field. Candidates with relevant practical laboratory experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant laboratory experience
  • Extensive experience in Quality Assurance of products in a busy manufacturing environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of chemical testing procedures and laboratory safety standards
  • Good knowledge of CIPAC methods, APVMA registration packaging requirements, and pesticide formulations
  • Experience in operating and troubleshooting analytical instruments (GC, HPLC, and GCMS) and data recording
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
