Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Engineering & Maintenance Department ensuring safe efficient daily operations.
  • Oversee repair troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of all mechanical electrical plumbing HVAC and building systems.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations on fire safety building control environmental codes and life-safety systems.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets cost control energy conservation and utilities consumption.
  • Supervise contractors vendors and service providers; liaise with regulatory authorities.
  • Conduct regular staff training performance reviews and development to maintain high technical and service standards.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives (Planet 21) including energy savings waste reduction and water conservation.
  • Maintain effective communication with the General Manager department heads and external partners.
  • Ensure health safety and environmental standards are consistently met for guests and staff.
  • Foster a positive professional team culture aligned with company values.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum 57 years of engineering/maintenance experience preferably in hospitality or large facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical electrical plumbing HVAC fire safety and building systems.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Solid understanding of local regulatory requirements (safety environmental building codes).
  • Experience in budgeting cost control and energy conservation.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to liaise effectively with contractors and authorities.
