The BelRose Group has been exclusively engaged by Yilli Rreung Housing Aboriginal Corporation (Yilli Housing) to appoint its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is a rare opportunity to lead a respected Aboriginal community controlled organisation delivering housing and community services across the Northern Territory.

Yilli Housing is a not-for-profit organisation committed to thriving and empowered Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities. The organisation provides culturally safe housing and related services that support self-determination, wellbeing and long-term community outcomes. Guided by strong values centred on culture, openness and empowerment, Yilli plays a vital role across the housing and community services landscape.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO holds overall accountability for the organisation’s strategic leadership, governance integrity and financial sustainability. The role leads the delivery of Board endorsed strategies, sets organisational culture and performance expectations, and ensures services remain compliant, sustainable and responsive to community priorities. Day to day operations are led by senior managers, with the CEO retaining responsibility for outcomes across service delivery, governance, finance, workforce and stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing clear strategic leadership aligned to the organisation’s vision, values and community priorities
  • Working in close partnership with the Board to support sound governance, decision making and accountability
  • Ensuring strong financial management, funding oversight and long-term organisational sustainability
  • Leading and supporting a capable senior leadership team across housing, community services and corporate functions
  • Representing the organisation with Aboriginal communities, government, funders, regulators and sector partners
  • Maintaining oversight of risk, compliance, service quality and work health and safety obligations

The ideal profile will demonstrate:

  • Senior executive leadership experience within housing, community services or a related human services environment
  • Strong experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and community controlled contexts
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a Board, providing high quality strategic advice and reporting
  • Well-developed financial, funding and risk governance capability within regulated environments
  • High level communication and stakeholder engagement skills across diverse audiences
  • Personal integrity, sound judgement and culturally respectful leadership aligned with Aboriginal values
