Requirements: Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Aerospace, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in educational content creation or eLearning development, preferably in aviation or technical domains. Skills: Strong understanding of aviation concepts and flight operations. Proficiency in eLearning development tools like Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, or similar. Strong writing skills with the ability to break down complex technical information into easy-to-understand, engaging formats. Basic knowledge of graphic design, animation, or video editing tools (Canva, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, etc.). Familiarity with instructional design principles (ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, UDL, etc.). Preferred Qualifications: Pilot license (PPL, CPL, or ATPL) or background in aviation training is a strong plus. Experience working with aviation schools, flight training academies, or EdTech companies. Knowledge of aviation regulations (FAA, EASA, DGCA) and standard operating procedures. The Chief Ground Instructor (CGI) shall be responsible for planning, conducting, supervising, and standardising all ground training activities in compliance with DGCA CARs , approved syllabi, and AAI operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and supervise ground training for PPL, CPL, IR, and DGCA theoretical subjects as applicable
- Ensure ground training is delivered strictly as per DGCA CARs, approved syllabi, and training manuals
- Develop, update, and standardise lesson plans, presentations, question banks, and training material
- Monitor student progress, examination preparedness, and maintain required training records
- Supervise and guide Ground Instructors and ensure instructional standardisation
- Coordinate ground training schedules with flight training operations
- Ensure effective use of smart boards, digital classrooms, and modern teaching aids
- Manage and deliver training through Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Support DGCA audits, inspections, and compliance documentation related to ground training
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Meets DGCA CAR requirements for appointment as Chief Ground Instructor
- Valid DGCA-approved Ground Instructor / Flight Instructor / CPL/ATPL (as applicable)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in aviation ground training (CPL/DGCA syllabus preferred)
- Prior experience in an FTO / DTO / Approved Training Organisation
