Your new company

A Renewable Energy Developer & IPP with an Asset Management business developing and operating a diversified portfolio across Japan. They are going through a period of strong growth with a renewed investment strategy and are adding to the team with several new positions. They have numerous projects and offices in the Asia Pacific area. They have a positive reputation around the world and are recognised for their success in developing and operating utility scale solar, wind and BESS projects.

Alongside their development business they are licensed by the Financial Services Agency of Japan to engage in asset management and investment advisory services.

Chief Investment Officer role
 
Reporting to the CEO the position will oversee acquisition and portfolio management. Responsible for new investments, you will formulate and execute investment strategies aligned with the company’s overall objectives and market outlook. You will source new investment opportunities and conduct initial screenings. With respect to Portfolio Management, you will monitor and evaluate the performance of existing assets (both listed and private funds), manage relationships and coordinate with outsourced service providers (asset managers, O&M, contractors, EPC firms).

Who you are:

Minimum 10 years of experience in infrastructure or renewable energy investments with a proven track record in end-to-end investment execution, including due diligence, negotiation, and closing. You have strong leadership and team management experience, with ability to work across departments. You have familiarity with coordination of external professionals (legal, technical, financial). Business-level proficiency in English; Japanese fluency is a plus. Professional certifications (e.g., ARES Master, CFA,) preferred
  
Investment Analyst/Associate roles

Reporting to the Regional Manager and the Head of Investments you will manage extensive financial modelling and quantitative analysis on projects & investment targets. You will perform in-depth research and present on the fundamentals of potential investments and conduct general industry research to assist in the identification of opportunities. You will also be responsible for providing deal execution including financial analysis, due diligence, documentation and financing. 
  
Who You Are
  
You have up to approximately 5-10 years of experience in investment banking/renewables organisations conducting financial modelling and investment analysis on projects and M&A. 
  
Japanese language ability required, JLPT N3 and above. English is also beneficial.
