Overview
***This position will be physically located in The Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP***
Under the supervision of the Vessel Captain, the Chief Mate oversees crew welfare and safety and ensures all vessel operations are carried out IAW with orders from the Vessel Captain. The Chief Mate will act as second in command to the Vessel Captain.
Responsibilities

+ Oversees crew's welfare and training in areas such as safety, firefighting, search and rescue.
+ Acts as second in command and reports to the vessel captain.
+ Uses tools such as ballasting and load balancing to optimize the ships performance for the type of environment expected to be encountered.
+ Oversees the preventive maintenance program in conjunction with the Engineer or Engineman.
