Role Overview
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior leadership role responsible for building, managing, and scaling the operating platform of Systematix Private Wealth. Working closely with the Joint MD & CEO and Systematix Group leadership, the COO will drive operational excellence, governance, and execution discipline across wealth management, advisory, and investment businesses.
The role focuses on translating business strategy into scalable operating models, technology-enabled platforms, and superior client delivery , while ensuring strong regulatory, risk, and control frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
- Partner with the Joint MD & CEO to execute strategic and business plans across Private Wealth and advisory businesses
- Act as a core member of the executive leadership team, contributing to firm-wide growth and transformation initiatives
- Ensure alignment of Private Wealth operations with Systematix Group policies, governance standards, and risk frameworks
Operations & Process Excellence
- Oversee end-to-end operations across the wealth platform, ensuring scalability, consistency, and control
- Design and institutionalize SOPs, workflows, and governance frameworks across functions
- Drive operational readiness for new products, markets, and regulatory changes
Technology, Digital & Operating Enablement
- Define and lead the technology and digital strategy for the wealth business, including platforms, applications, and mobile solutions
- Drive automation and digitisation initiatives to enhance client experience, improve turnaround time, and reduce operational risk
- Translate business and product strategy into scalable operating models and robust system capabilities
- Oversee implementation and optimisation of CRM, portfolio management, reporting, and RM productivity platforms
- Partner with leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration across front, middle, and back offices
Client Service & Experience
- Design and refine client-centric service models and operating procedures
- Oversee portfolio administration and operational support for advisory and investment teams
- Ensure high standards of service quality, turnaround time, and client communication
Finance, Risk & Governance
- Support budgeting, financial planning, and cost management in coordination with Finance
- Oversee internal controls, audits, vendor management, insurance, and operational risk
- Work closely with Compliance on regulatory adherence, audits, and governance committees
People & Oversight
- Provide direct and indirect leadership to Operations, Client Services, Technology, Finance Operations, and Administration teams
Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) and/or graduate/postgraduate from a reputed institution with a strong engineering, technology, or systems background
- 20+ years of experience in operations, wealth management, financial services, capital markets, or investment banking
- Strong exposure to HNI/UHNI wealth operations , complex financial products, and regulated environments
- Proven experience in process transformation, technology implementation, and cross-functional leadership
Key Competencies
- Strong hands-on experience across wealth products including PMS, AIFs, advisory, and distribution
- Proven capability in driving technology platforms and digital initiatives
- Deep expertise in operations excellence and process transformation
- Demonstrated leadership in scaling businesses and improving efficiency
- Consistent track record of delivering sustainable growth and execution excellence
