We are currently seeking a Chief Technology Officer to set and execute the enterprise technology strategy that underpins the Access Group's growth, resilience, and competitive advantage.
In this executive leadership role, you will provide strategic oversight of the Group's information, digital, and technology ecosystems, ensuring robust governance, strong cyber security posture, and alignment with business strategy and commercial outcomes. You will lead and develop a high‑performing technology function, driving scalable, secure, and future‑ready platforms that enable national operations, digital transformation, and data‑led decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing IT team of up to 40 employees across multiple locations and disciplines.
- Proven capability in sourcing, acquiring, and sustaining strategic contractor partnerships within the development sphere, such as technology stack providers delivering comprehensive e‑commerce solutions.
- Oversee the enterprise IT architecture, ensuring alignment of systems, data, and infrastructure to business strategy.
- Develop and implement IT strategies that enable scalability, reliability, and innovation across the organisation.
- Provide executive oversight of enterprise infrastructure and cloud platforms, ensuring availability, resilience, cost optimisation, and service performance through appropriate governance and assurance frameworks.
- Manage cybersecurity programs and compliance in line with Access Group's risk and governance standards.
- Set enterprise technology standards and governance frameworks to ensure architectural integrity, consistency, and long‑term sustainability across all initiatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Leadership Team, translating complex technical concepts into actionable business outcomes.
- Maintain disaster recovery, data management, and business continuity frameworks.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies that drive operational efficiency, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and technology partnerships to ensure service quality and value.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 8‑10 years in a senior IT leadership role overseeing multi‑disciplinary teams of significant size and complexity.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing at executive and board level.
- Proven ability to manage and scale a technology function of up to 40 staff (direct and indirect reports).
- Deep technical understanding of systems architecture, infrastructure design, and enterprise applications.
- Demonstrated experience in large‑scale digital transformation, automation, or innovation programs.
- Strong background in cloud technologies (Azure, AWS), cybersecurity, and network management.
- Solid grasp of agile delivery, project governance, and ITIL or equivalent service frameworks.
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Track record of developing capable teams, promoting accountability, and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Exposure to AI, data analytics, or emerging technologies highly regarded.
