CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER (CTO) WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW Location : Barcelona Contract : Permanent, senior leadership role Language : English is the working language across the business Team size : 20–30 engineers across hardware, software, electronics & materials Technology : Proprietary, next-generation printing hardware working with functional, high-viscosity materials THE OPPORTUNITY This is a rare CTO role for someone who wants to own a genuinely differentiated hardware platform, not maintain incremental improvements on legacy tech. The company has already achieved what most never do : Fully in-house proprietary printhead technology A complete, integrated hardware and software platform Proven materials capability that unlocks applications previously considered impossible You’ll lead the transition from cutting‑edge R&D into robust, reliable, industrial‑grade systems ready for global deployment. This is about taking breakthrough physics, materials science, and precision engineering and turning it into something customers can run 24/7. YOUR IMPACT As CTO, you’ll be responsible for : Defining and owning the long‑term technology roadmap Turning prototypes into modular, production‑ready systems Ensuring quality, reliability, and manufacturability at industrial scale Leading a highly multidisciplinary engineering organisation across hardware, software, electronics, firmware, and materials Acting as the senior technical authority with customers, partners, and investors This is a role for someone who enjoys technical depth but can also zoom out and make the right architectural and strategic decisions. WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON Advanced printhead and fluid‑handling systems Complex system architecture across mechanics, electronics, and software Intelligent software platforms (including AI‑driven optimisation and compensation) Design‑for‑manufacture and industrialisation of deep‑tech hardware Strategic partnerships with research institutes and industrial partners WHAT MAKES SOMEONE SUCCESSFUL HERE 10 years in deep‑tech engineering environments (additive manufacturing, inkjet, robotics, precision electronics, or similar) A proven track record of scaling hardware from lab to industrial reality Comfortable leading across disciplines — even if your core expertise sits in one Hands‑on when needed; strategic when required Calm, patient, and credible in long hardware development cycles J-18808-Ljbffr
