Chief Technology Officer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Chief Technology Officer to lead the technology

vision and architecture of UniSouk, a next-generation e-commerce platform. The CTO

will be responsible for building and scaling the technology infrastructure,

establishing engineering best practices, and driving innovation across the platform.

Key Responsibilities

● Design and oversee the development of scalable, robust technology

architecture for UniSouk‘s e-commerce platform

● Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of

technical excellence

● Define a technology roadmap aligned with business objectives and market

demands

● Establish coding standards, development practices, and deployment

procedures

● Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and frameworks to maintain a

competitive advantage

● Lead technical due diligence and vendor management for third-party

integrations

● Drive digital transformation initiatives across the organisation

● Oversee system security, data protection, and compliance with industry

standards

● Partner with Product and Business teams to translate requirements into

technical solutions

● Manage technology budget and optimise infrastructure costs

Required Qualifications

Requirements & Good to have:

● 10+ years of software development and technology leadership experience

● Minimum 5+ years in a CTO or VP Engineering role at a growth-stage

company

● Proven experience building scalable e-commerce or marketplace platforms

● Strong background in cloud architecture (AWS/GCP/Azure)

● Expert-level knowledge of backend systems, databases, and microservices

architecture

● Experience with modern tech stacks and full-stack development principles

● Track record of building high-performing engineering teams (20+ members)

● Strong understanding of SDLC, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

● Experience with AI/ML integration in e-commerce systems

● Background in supply chain technology or logistics platforms

● Experience scaling infrastructure for high-traffic platforms (millions of daily

active users)

● Familiarity with the Indian e-commerce ecosystem and regulations

● Previous startup or scale-up experience
