Summary :
The Citrix VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) Specialist is responsible for the design, deployment, administration, and support of Citrix-based virtual desktop solutions. This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing virtual desktops to end users across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, implement, and maintain Citrix VDI environments, including Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix Workspace, and associated components.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to Citrix VDI infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal user experience.
- Manage user profiles, policies, and access controls within the Citrix environment.
- Perform regular upgrades, patches, and updates to Citrix systems to ensure security and reliability.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate Citrix VDI with other enterprise systems and applications.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end users and IT staff regarding Citrix VDI solutions.
- Document architecture, procedures, and changes for compliance and knowledge sharing.
- Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning of the VDI infrastructure.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies for Citrix VDI.
- Stay updated with the latest Citrix technologies, best practices, and industry trends.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in managing and supporting Citrix VDI solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Dass, HPC VDI, Citrix Workspace, Zen Servers, Citrix Studio, Director, and Citrix StoreFront.
- Proficiency in Windows Server administration and Active Directory integration.
- Experience with networking concepts, load balancing, and security in virtual desktop environments.
- Understanding of hypervisors (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix etc.) and storage technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
- Citrix certifications (e.g., CCA-V, CCP-V, CCE-V) are highly desirable.
