Job Description
As a Civil Engineer in the Royal Australian Engineers (RAE) Corps you will be responsible for project managing the construction, repair and maintenance of roads, airfields, sea terminals, railways, buildings and bridges. In addition, you’ll be involved in the construction of field defences and obstacles and aiding the community in humanitarian efforts. You may also provide terrain assessment advice and the provision of construction materials and essential services such as water, electricity, and sewerage disposal.
As Officers in the Australian Army, Civil Engineers are responsible for the full range of regimental, engineering specific, and staff duties where your skills can be used to enhance Army capabilities.
After completion of an engineering degree at the Australian Defence Force Academy and First Appointment training at the Royal Military College – Duntroon, you will then complete the RAE Regimental Officer Basic Course.
