Civil Engineer I (Structures)

Main Purpose and Function

The Structures team is hiring two Structural Engineers to join its team. One engineer will join the Asset Management team, working on the long-term management of the 13 km of seawall, shoreline assets, and various other structures. This role includes capital and long-term planning, as well as reviewing building developments for impacts to City infrastructure. The second engineer will join the Program and Project Delivery team, with a primary focus on the Cambie Street Bridge Seismic Upgrade program. Both positions may also be responsible for managing and delivering additional projects and tasks as needed.

The Civil Engineer Is are responsible for the development, implementation and management of the City’s Bridge Strategy, a priority action item identified in the Streets Division’s Strategic Plan.
