As a Civil Engineer, you will be designing new or improving existing plans, from footings and structural elements to pavement calculations, roadways, and even stormwater systems. In addition to creating initial plans, you will monitor the ongoing construction of your designs as needed to ensure the heart of the design is being followed and the appropriate quality is being upheld. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with AutoCAD or a similar drafting program, has excellent attention to detail, and is familiar with building codes and typical construction methods and materials. Responsibilities Create new drawings based on customer specifications and needs Modify existing drawings as required Go out into the field as needed to observe the construction and ensure the drawings are being followed appropriately Maintain excellent records on progress and projects handled Qualifications Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D The ability to work well both independently and within a team Familiarity with building codes and construction materials
