Job Description

We are hiring an experienced Senior Civil Engineer (O&M) to lead and supervise the complete operation, maintenance, and monitoring of large-scale water supply infrastructure, including Ranney Wells, Tube Wells, MBS–IBS systems, Pipeline Networks, Pumping Stations, and related civil structures.

Key Responsibilities1. Operation & Monitoring

• Supervision of 22 Ranney Wells , 160 Tube Wells , 8 Master Balancing Reservoirs (MBS) , 5 Intermediate Balancing Reservoirs (IBS) , 3 Booster Stations , and 2 Tube Well Boosters .
• Ensure uninterrupted 24×7 pumping operations  as per FMDA water demand.
• Monitor and record pumping hours, discharge, static/dynamic water levels, and power consumption.

2. Pumping Machinery & Electrical Maintenance

• Oversee routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and servicing of:
• HT/LT panels
• Transformers
• DG sets
• Electrical feeders
• Pumping machinery
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults such as tripping, overload, and short-circuit.
• Coordinate repair/overhauling of pumps, motors, impellers, shafts, and bearings.

3. Pipeline & Civil Infrastructure Maintenance

• Supervise maintenance of approx. 350 km pipeline network (150mm–1000mm dia.) .
• Handle leakage repair, valve operations, air valve & sluice valve maintenance.
• Ensure proper trenching, jointing, welding, backfilling, and reinstatement.
• Manage civil repair works of pump houses, reservoirs, boundary walls, chambers, truss bridges, and approach roads.
• Mandatory:  Experience in laying water supply pipelines of minimum 600mm dia .

4. Horticulture & Housekeeping

• Supervise upkeep, cleaning, desilting, and waste disposal at all sites.
• Oversee horticulture and landscaping works around reservoirs and pump stations.

5. Manpower & Safety Supervision

• Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team of Operators, Fitters, Welders, Plumbers, Electricians & Helpers.
• Ensure proper shift planning for 24×7 operations.
• Enforce safety standards for HT/LT operations, pump handling, confined space entry, and site operations.

6. Emergency & Breakdown Handling

• Immediate response to:
• Pipeline bursts
• Pump/motor failures
• Feeder breakdowns
• Coordinate with electricity authorities and vendors for fault resolution.
• Ensure availability of spares and minimize operational downtime.

7. Reporting & Compliance

• Maintain detailed logbooks, performance records, breakdown history, and maintenance reports.
• Submit daily/weekly/monthly reports to the Project Incharge.
• Ensure strict compliance with FMDA technical guidelines, O&M protocols, and contractual specifications.

Required Skills

• Minimum 8 years experience  in Water Supply O&M / PHED / Municipal / FMDA projects.
• Strong knowledge of pipeline systems (150mm–1000mm), pumping machinery, valves, motors & electrical systems.
• Hands-on experience in water pipeline laying of minimum 600mm dia (mandatory) .
• Experience in civil structure maintenance at pump houses, reservoirs & O&M facilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Advance), MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
• Strong site management, team leadership, and emergency handling skills.
• Excellent communication & coordination abilities.
