Civilian Officer


As a Civilian Officer, you will be deployed to various units and will work alongside uniform officers in various frontline rehabilitation,
planning or corporate support roles towards the common goal of keeping Singapore safe and secure through transforming the lives of offenders and their families.








  • As an executive appointed under the Extended Management Executive Scheme (E-MXS), you perform administrative support roles alongside uniform and civilian colleagues in one of the functional areas of Operations, Rehabilitation Management and Services, Technology, Corporate Services, Corporate Communications and Strategic Planning.


    Eligibility Requirements

    • Relevant qualification and working experience will be an advantage
    • A team player with good communication and interpersonal skills


    Starting Salary

    • $1,801 - $2,660*
    * Indicative starting monthly salary for fresh graduates with the completion of full-time National Service, where applicable. Additional increments may be granted for relevant work experience.

  • The Home Affairs Senior Executive (HASE) undertake the middle and senior management civilian positions in SPS. You will do meaningful work alongside uniform and specialist colleagues across functional areas such as Strategic Planning, Operations, Correctional Rehabilitation Planning and Services, Community Corrections, Technology, Human Resources, Corporate Services and Corporate Communications.
     
    As a HASE officer, you will also be able to undergo regular postings to Ministry of Home Affairs and other Home Team agencies to gain exposure and develop a range of transferable skills and knowledge.
     
    If you have qualifications and/or experience in psychology, social work or counselling, you may apply for the Correctional Rehabilitation Specialist (CRS) position. As a CRS, your roles include the design, formulation, and delivery of rehabilitation and reintegration programmes for inmates in the prisons or undergoing supervision in the community. You will be provided with specialist training so that you can grow in your skills and competencies as a specialist in the field of corrections.


    Eligibility Requirements

    • Relevant qualification and working experience will be an advantage

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Candidates with knowledge and/or experience in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling may apply for Correctional Rehabilitation Specialist (CRS) position. The roles for CRS comprise the design, formulation, and delivery of rehabilitation programmes for inmates.


    Starting Salary

    • $3,750 - $4,743*
    * Indicative starting monthly salary for fresh graduates with the completion of full-time National Service, where applicable. Additional increments may be granted for relevant work experience.

  • The Home Team Specialist Scheme (Psychologist) aims to develop a core group of specialists with expert knowledge and skills in the field of corrections. As a psychologist in the Singapore Prison Service, you will play a key role in the following functions:

    • Development, delivery, and evaluation of psychological treatment programmes
    • Offender profiling
    • Pre-sentencing assessment
    • Research and recidivism studies
    • Mental health and resilience of staff

    Starting Salary

    • $4,294 - $5,244*
    * Indicative starting monthly salary for fresh graduates with the completion of full-time National Service, where applicable. Additional increments may be granted for relevant work experience.
