ROLE OVERVIEW


This is a senior, embedded role within MBCS, dedicated to one of our tentpole Melbourne clients.


As Client Director, you are the day-to-day owner of the client relationship, responsible for ensuring operational excellence, strong partnerships, and consistently high-quality output. You will lead the account end-to-end, acting as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders while guiding internal teams to deliver seamless, integrated work.


Alongside strong account leadership, this role is the agency's go-to digital lead for the account. You will bring confidence and clarity to digital conversations, ensuring creative ideas are effectively translated across platforms, channels, and ecosystems. While this role is not purely strategic, a strong understanding of digital best practice is essential to challenge thinking, guide execution, and drive better outcomes.


This role suits someone who enjoys pace, complexity, and responsibility, and who is comfortable leading, challenging, and improving ways of working.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders, building strong, trusted relationships

  • Lead integrated delivery across creative, media, strategy, and production teams

  • Own day-to-day account management, ensuring smooth, high-quality and on-time delivery

  • Drive project planning across multiple workstreams, managing timelines, priorities, and dependencies

  • Oversee budgets, estimates, and financial administration for the account

  • Write clear, inspiring creative briefs that align teams and set work up for success

  • Manage, mentor, and develop an Account Executive

  • Act as the digital lead, embedding digital thinking across platforms and creative execution

  • Analyse performance data to deliver actionable insights and support a test-and-learn mindset

  • Be a senior cultural leader who champions high standards, collaboration, and the agency's “Hit Different” mindset
  • QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • Extensive experience in account management or client leadership roles within a creative, media, or integrated agency

  • Strong operational and commercial acumen, with confidence managing complex workflows and detail

  • Deep understanding of digital channels, platforms, and content execution, with the ability to lead senior digital conversations

  • Comfortable challenging clients and internal teams to improve outcomes and raise the bar on work

  • Highly organised, calm under pressure, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • A confident communicator who can lead discussions, build trust, and inspire teams

  • Experience in the automotive category is a very strong advantage
