ISS STOXX is seeking a Climate Analytics Specialist – Python to join our team in Goregaon East, Mumbai.

Overview:

The Climate Unit within ISS Sustainability Solutions is seeking a Python‑proficient Climate Analytics Specialist to join the Transition Risks and Opportunities team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science and analytics, experience or interest in climate transition topics, and a passion for responsible investment.

This role requires the ability to work with complex datasets, build analytical prototypes in Python, and translate insights for both internal stakeholders and external clients. Candidates must be comfortable engaging with global colleagues and clients while contributing to product development, analytics enhancement, and quantitative research on climate transition.

Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to data interpretation and methodology development, including code proof of concepts, around Transition / Net Zero related products.

  • Support team with quantitative analysis and research on countries climate policies to evaluate countries emission performance, alignment to international initiatives and target setting.

  • Support sales with client requests

    • Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience relating to data analytics

  • Advanced university degree ideally in data science, environmental science, engineering, economics, quantitative finance, expertise in financial (ESG) topics desirable

  • Demonstrated interest in climate change.

  • Understanding of climate scenarios and Net Zero frameworks desirable.

  • Very strong quantitative (and qualitative) analytical skills and excellent conceptual thinking aptitude

  • Excellent command of Data science and strong knowledge of Python

  • Excellent command of Excel and good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications

  • Excellent oral and written command of English

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with customer-first attitude

  • Willingness to work with a highly collaborative, flexible and innovative team across different locations

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
