Clinical Genetics Technologist I - Cytogenetics

As a genetic technologist, your discerning eye, analytical mind, and critical thinking skills help doctors, patients, and families get the information they need to identify, treat, and make decisions about genetic diseases or disorders. Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) is currently seeking a Genetics Technologist I to join the Genetics and Genomics team at the University of Alberta Hospital (UAH). As the Genetics Technologist I, you will provide technical expertise and perform both routine and specialized work processing patient samples for chromosome analysis in the Edmonton Clinical Cytogenetics Laboratory. In this role, you will execute specific diagnostic procedures including preparation and culturing of peripheral bloods, amniotic fluids, chorionic villus specimens, bone marrow aspirates, and solid tissues.
