About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Solutions Architect with deep expertise in data architecture, security, and scalable platform design to lead the technical strategy of a fast-paced online platform in a highly regulated domain. You will partner with engineering, product, and compliance teams to shape the architecture, enforce best practices in data governance, and ensure robust security across digital services.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Strategy
Define and evolve the enterprise technology architecture to support a rapidly scaling ecommerce/service platform.
Translate business requirements into technical designs focusing on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Provide architectural leadership on major cross-functional initiatives.
Data Modelling & Management
Design comprehensive data models to support customer, transaction, product, and regulatory datasets.
Lead database architecture decisions (RDBMS/NoSQL/analytic stores) with strong normalization, indexing, partitioning, and performance planning.
Establish data taxonomy, lineage, and metadata standards across the platform.
Security & Compliance
Architect and enforce a secure platform framework compliant with relevant privacy and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR).
Define security controls for authentication, encryption (in-transit and at rest), API protection, and access governance.
Collaborate with InfoSec teams to conduct threat modelling, risk assessments, and regular security reviews.
Cloud & Integration Architecture
Design highly available cloud-native architectures (Azure / AWS / GCP) with appropriate patterns (microservices/containers/serverless).
Lead API strategy, integration patterns and ensure secure data exchange between internal systems and third-party services.
Work with DevOps to drive CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and release automation.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Serve as a technology advisor to product owners and engineering leads.
Mentor and guide engineering teams on architectural decisions and coding standards.
Drive documentation of architecture artifacts, runbooks, and technical SOPs.
Required Qualifications
Technical Expertise
8+ years of experience in solutions / enterprise architecture roles.
Strong mastery of data modelling concepts and tools (ER modelling, dimensional design).
Experience with cloud architecture (AWS / Azure / GCP) and container ecosystems.
Proven skills in application security, encryption strategies, and identity management (OAuth2, JWT, SSO).
Familiarity with API design (RESTful / GraphQL) and secure integration frameworks.
Solid understanding of infrastructure automation and CI/CD (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
Compliance & Domain Awareness
Prior experience in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, fintech, ecommerce with strict data privacy requirements).
Understand privacy standards (e.g., GDPR), audit requirements, and secure data handling lifecycles.
Soft Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication - able to articulate complex technical solutions with clarity.
Leadership mindset with an ability to influence across technical and business stakeholders.
Analytical thinker who can balance long-term architecture visions with short-term delivery needs.
Nice-to-Have
Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, GCP Professional).
Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka / Pub/Sub).
Understanding of machine learning pipelines and data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
Knowledge of identity verification / KYC tech integrations.
