Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and accomplished individual to join our Database Performance and Operability team at Fanatics Commerce.
As a Senior Cloud Database Engineer, you will be performing the database related activities including:
Be the DB expert to reach out regarding NoSQL DBs.
Stay up to date with the latest developments in the NoSQL space.
Develop and maintain working relationships with engineering leads across our distributed teams to collaborate on initiatives.
Review data models created by application teams.
Manage our Cassandra and Scylla clusters with a focus on capacity management, cost optimization, high availability and performance.
Work with large database clusters handling 1M+ IOPS in aggregate.
Create automations to reduce toil.
Create automations for monitoring and alerting.
Create runbooks for alert handling.
Setup backup and restore mechanisms.
