Cloud Database Administrator (Cloud DBA)

We are looking for a Cloud Database Administrator (Cloud DBA) to manage, optimize, and secure cloud-based database environments across leading cloud platforms. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong database fundamentals and experience operating databases in modern cloud architectures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support cloud database services across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Manage relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring performance, availability, and scalability.
  • Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies.
  • Monitor database health, performance, and security using cloud-native and third-party tools.
  • Collaborate with cloud, DevOps, and application teams to support scalable solutions.
  • Apply best practices for cloud security, IAM, and networking related to databases.
  • Automate routine tasks using scripting and infrastructure tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with cloud database services such as AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure SQL, or GCP Cloud SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database administration fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, Cosmos DB).
  • Experience with backup and recovery strategies and high-availability architectures.
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and scripting (Python, Bash).
  • Understanding of cloud networking, IAM, and security policies.

Nice to Have

  • Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Database Specialty, Azure Database Administrator Associate, or Google Cloud Database Engineer.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, ELK Stack).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50, $100,000.00 per month
